The story of HerStory
HerStory Retreats began as a shared dream between two friends - Meg & Saska -rooted in books, wild kids, and a deep longing for rest, connection, and joy.
As the seasons shifted, so too did the shape of the retreat. What began as occasional, perfectly curated escapes has grown into something wilder, messier, and more alive: a year-round book club, fuelled by laughter, late-night cocktails, and the kind of raucous, heartfelt community that carries you through the chaos of life -not just the curated pauses.
Now held by Meg, HerStory continues to honour its roots while reaching for something bolder. These retreats and gatherings are spaces for burnt-out book lovers, tired mamas, misfits, and main characters alike- where fairy wings meet paperbacks, plot twists meet paddleboards, and connection is always the real ending.
So what started somewhere between bedtime meltdowns and a fantasy involving bubbles (both kinds), zero small talk, and a hot tub full of women who’ve absolutely had it: HerStory grew into wellness without the a green juice, it the type of welness that builds up wild women energy with a side of smut, sarcasm, and a bloody good book.
Here we’re building a new kind of retreat, equal parts book club, breakdown, and bougie girls’ nights out. There’s no healing agenda, no ice baths (though we do enjoy a plunge of wild swimming!), and definitely no pressure. Just belly laughs, deep chats, strong drinks, and somewhere comfy to fall apart a little (or a lot).
