Our Story

 HerStory began, as many feminist revolutions do, with two women imagining a world where women could step out of obligation and into something made entirely for them. The first idea was simple: retreats built around rest, reading, and the radical belief that women deserve time that isn’t stolen, rushed, or shared.

From that spark, something larger unfolded.

A book club took shape,not as a hobby, but as a quiet act of resistance. Women gathered twice a month to read, to question, to think, to laugh, and to take up space in a world that is still more comfortable when we shrink.

Over time, HerStory evolved into a thriving community:

a room full of sharp, tender, brilliant women who bring their own fire and softness, who show up tired, joyful, heartbroken, hopeful and leave a little more whole. It’s a feminist space in the truest sense: collaborative, welcoming, defiant in its gentleness, unapologetic in its joy.

The retreats remain part of our roots, but the heart of HerStory is here in the women who gather, who read widely, who challenge the stories we’ve been given and write new ones together. Every meeting is a reminder that women’s free time, women’s pleasure, and women’s voices are political, powerful, and worth protecting.

From a conversation… to a book club… to a movement.
